93% of companies that lost their data for 10 days or more, filed for bankruptcy within one year of the disaster.
These are not good odds.
Data loss can occur on any device that stores data. PCM are primarily concerned with the permanent loss of data, which is important to the ongoing success of your business. The amount of invaluable data that businesses hold is incalculable: Client contact details, records of previous business, accounts and financial records, archives of emails, company templates and much more.
Loss can occur from:
A survey conducted, found that on average SMEs are spending £34,000 on information protection and a global study by Accenture reported that 60% of organisations acknowledged data loss as a recurring problem. At a fraction of the cost PCM can prevent this type of catastrophe.
PCM offers a service which provides peace of mind for small to medium sized enterprises in respect of their data security. Remote Data Backup is a piece of software that is installed on a server and/or individual computers and laptops. Remote Data Backup then sends stored data to PCM twice daily or however frequently you require. This process is done automatically. Unlike other providers, there are staff on hand to make sure that this transition happens without failure, furthermore businesses receive emails each time their data has been backed up, informing them that their data backup has been successful. Consequently any errors can be amended promptly to ensure that full data storage is preserved.
The backing up of data, however large, is fast and efficient.
Set up is simple and swift. PCM can set up the service within a few hours, ensuring that you are safely backed up. PCM can establish the service onsite if required, alternatively businesses may opt to set up the software with our remote assistance. When setting up Remote Data Backup, all of the existing data on the server will be transferred, allowing retrospective backing up as well as future input and modifications.
Remote Data Backup is completely secure. The software encrypts data before it leaves the business network and it remains in this format with PCM. The data can only be read and accessed through ownership of the password. As an additional security measure, all data is replicated to a PCM server at a remote location.
Should a business lose its data, it can be accessed in three ways. The first is through a password protected website, where all of the data, or individual files can be restored quickly. Alternatively PCM can email individual files or, if you have lost large datasets and require them quickly, PCM can courier hard copies to you directly. In almost all instances, remote recovery provides a prompt, practical and cost effective retrieval method.
PCM take the protection of your data very seriously. Recent independent research commissioned by the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has found that millions of SMEs across the UK are failing to properly protect themselves in the event of disaster. Government figures suggest that nearly 1 in 5 businesses suffer a major IT related disruption every year.
As a result of experience, PCM are acutely aware of the risks that lack of proper data protection pose to businesses. PCM provide the software and service at a competitive price and are on hand to ensure that everything runs smoothly. In the event of data loss, our specialists are able to provide assurance and assistance to minimize the inevitable stress generated by vital data loss. The experts at PCM will ensure that you have your data up and running as soon as possible.
Remote Data Backup is a big hit with our customers - you can find out what they think by reading some of our case studies.
"Had we not been using the PCM remote back up, the incident that we experienced would have been an unmitigated disaster and I am not certain that my business would have recovered. I believe the cost would have run to a minimum of £10,000 to recreate the data loss in our proprietary software system. The contingent loss of business and subsequent revenue does not bear thinking about.
PCM are extremely easy to 'do business with'; they are all that you would expect in your own business - professional, customer focused staff, delivering a great service."Douglas Badger
