What is Remote Data Backup?

Remote Data Backup is a piece of software that is installed on a server and/or individual computers and laptops. Remote Data Backup then sends stored data to PCM twice daily or however frequently you require. This process is done automatically. Unlike other providers, there are staff on hand to make sure that this transition happens without failure, furthermore businesses receive emails each time their data has been backed up, informing them that their data backup has been successful. Consequently any errors can be amended promptly to ensure that full data storage is preserved.

The backing up of data, however large, is fast and efficient.

How long does it take to set up?

Set up is simple and swift. PCM can set up the service within a few hours, ensuring that you are safely backed up. PCM can establish the service onsite if required, alternatively businesses may opt to set up the software with our remote assistance. When setting up Remote Data Backup, all of the existing data on the server will be transferred, allowing retrospective backing up as well as future input and modifications.

Is it secure?

Remote Data Backup is completely secure. The software encrypts data before it leaves the business network and it remains in this format with PCM. The data can only be read and accessed through ownership of the password. As an additional security measure, all data is replicated to a PCM server at a remote location.

What happens in the event of data loss?

Should a business lose its data, it can be accessed in three ways. The first is through a password protected website, where all of the data, or individual files can be restored quickly. Alternatively PCM can email individual files or, if you have lost large datasets and require them quickly, PCM can courier hard copies to you directly. In almost all instances, remote recovery provides a prompt, practical and cost effective retrieval method.
