Server Disaster Recovery is a cost effective way to ensure the continuous running of your business, if and when your business Server is out of action, for whatever reason.

Initial setup

The initial setup is hassle free and causes no disruption to the running of the network - there is no downtime due to Server restarts etc.

We will install a seperate recovery Server onto the network - all the necessary software is resident on this, we don't need to intefere with your Server/network integrity.

Server Disaster Recovery is installed and active within 24 hours, with a fully operational off-site copy of your original Server being updated once a day.

Managed service

PCM will undertake monitoring on the following schedule:

  • Daily: check the Remote Backup service is functioning correctly
  • Weekly: check that the conversion software is operating to schedule
  • Quarterly: carry out a "test restore" from the Remote Backup data onto a PCM server

Data held in the allocated PCM server is fully encrypted and not visible to any parties other than the client.

In the event of a disaster

Depending on the scale of the disaster, and what equipment is in need of repair, the disaster recovery procedure will be as follows:

  • PCM receive a call from the client informing them that a disaster has occurred
  • If the disaster affects the server, but does not affect the standalone hard drive; PCM will use the data from the standalone hard drive, linked to our temporary server
  • If the disaster is total and the server and standalone hard drive are completely destroyed, PCM will retrieve the data from our Remote Backup service
  • Once the data is available, PCM will attend the client site and establish a temporary server to run the network in as cost effective a manner as is practical. Some configuration will be necessary to ensure all client machines are able to connect to the temporary server
  • In most circumstances, this service ensures that you are up-and-running in a couple of hours from PCM attending the site
