    Twenty five years ago, sitting in a pub with a mate who worked in "computers", I was being numbed by his description of his job. His firm looked after the reels of data which high street banks sent to them by goods vehicle to store safely in a huge old mill near Huddersfield. Noticing my ill-concealed boredom - I was trying a bit, he was also my cricket skipper - he announced over his Sammy Smiths that in the fullness of time everyone would have a computer on their desk. I fear that some excellent Dark Mild may well have hit reverse at this juncture.

    Endon Lighting Limited, a Leeds based supplier of quality decorative lighting equipment, contracted us to refresh their website, which they felt did not accurately reflect either their current range or their corporate style. This work involved behind-the-scenes development by the PCM team, including the migration and merging of databases to centralise disparately held information, search engine optimisation and setting up a web service.     Over the next couple of months, a number of articles such as the one to the right from the Leeds Retail City Centre Newsletter will be appearing in local and trade press regarding our new Server Disaster Recovery service. We think this reflects the increasing recognition by businesses and other organizations of the importance of adequate backup and recovery procedures.

      SVUK are responsible for the verification of initial teacher training plus other forms of workforce training and development. Our association with SVUK began last year when we were involved in helping develop the tariff recognition project; we have been delighted to continue our association by recently winning and fulfilling a tender to re-develop their in-house database to manage GPRLS applicant information.
